Skin Diseases

Skin ailments are very common now a days. They vary in symptoms and severity. They can be temporary or permanent. The common skin ailments that affect a large number of population are: Acne, Eczema, Psoriasis, Urticaria, Lupus, Warts, Corns, Ringworm, Rash, Dry skin, Cracked skin, Excessive Flushing, Boils, Sunburn. Chronic skin diseases are very difficult to treat, they take long time to heal and sometimes causes discoloration of Skin. Homoeopathy is very effective in all these skin conditions.

Acne

Also called pimples are very common amongst teenagers and young people. It occurs when hair follicles plug with oil and dead skin cells. It can cause blackheads or whiteheads.

Eczema

Also known as dermatitis, is a condition in which skin become inflamed, cracked, itchy and rough. There are two basic types of Eczema i.e. dry eczema and wet eczema. Besides this there are so many types of eczema such as Atopic Eczema, Contact Dermatitis and Dyshidrotic Eczema etc.

Psoriasis

An auto immune disorder characterized by formation of white-silvery Scales; red, itchy and dry patches.

Urticaria

Urticaria or hives is swollen, pale red bumps or plaques on the skin that appears suddenly; generally it is due to allergic condition. It can be acute or chronic. Many time in acute cases, it appears suddenly and disappears on its own.

Lupus

It is an auto immune disorder. The symptoms include Butterfly Rash, commonly seen on cheeks and bridge of the nose; fever, joint pain, stiffness and swelling.

Warts

Caused by Human Papilloma virus. It’s a small, fleshy bump on the skin or mucus membrane. Generally warts are painless.

Corns

Thick, hardened layers of the skin caused by friction and pressure. Corns most often develop on the tops and sides of the feet and between the toes .

Ringworm

A highly contagious fungal infection of the skin or scalp. Ringworm is spread by skin to skin contact or by touching an infected animal or object.

Rash

Red, bumpy, scaly or itchy patches of skin, sometimes present with blisters. Skin rashes can have causes that aren’t due to underlying diseases. Examples include hot and humid weather, excess sun exposure or scratchy clothes that don’t fit.

Dry skin

Rough, dry skin that may have scales or small cracks. It is also known as xeroderma. Dry skin can have causes that aren’t due to underlying disease. Examples include dry environment, frequently washing hands, inadequate hydration, swimming in a chlorinated pool and jobs that are rough on the hands such as mechanics or farming.

Cracked skin

It is a classic symptom of dry skin but it can also occur in response to scratches or other trauma, or infection. When the skin dries, it can become rough and flaky, with small tears that can lead to deeper cracks called fissures which can extend into the deeper layers of the skin.

Excessive Flushing

Whenever there is more blood flow to an area of skin, the blood vessels enlarge to compensate. This enlargement is what gives the “Flushed” effect. It is a common physical response to spicy food, exercise, warm temperature, anxiety, stress, embarrassment, anger or another extreme emotional state.

Boils

A painful, pus filled bump under the skin caused by infected, inflamed hair follicles or oil glands. Boils form under the skin when bacteria infect and inflame one or more hair follicles.

Sunburn

A type of skin burn resulting from too much exposure to sunlight. There may be red, sometimes swollen and painful skin caused by overexposure to Ultraviolet (UV) rays from sun.
